This is so important, especially for dementia patients. Since my Mom has become a resident, they have had a New Years party, Valentine party, St. Patrick’s Day party, and a Mother’s Day tea. Family was invited to the Mother’s Day tea and allowed us time with Mom while we enjoyed tea, finger sandwiches, and an assortment of desserts. These activities are not only good for Mom, but help us have create memories with her. My Mom’s ability to communicate is limited at this point, but when I visit her and ask her if she is happy, she always answers me with a big YES.
